Double-toothed sprockets can be found either in full or in half tooth steps. Full tooth methods are double-toothed so that only a part of the the teeth is used effectively. The advantage is that whenever the chain can be exchanged the so far unutilised tooth can be used after that, and the sprockets can remain in the planetary gearbox system.
In order to boost the life cycle of a chain drive a lot more, sprockets can be produced with half tooth steps. With every rotation the chain joints move one tooth forward in the meshing. This reduces the wear of the chain and the tooth edges. This type of toothing is frequently used when, because of the respective design, only minor deflections can be realised.
Our sprockets and plate sprockets are made from C 45, stainless steel, and special materials with a material power of between 500 N/mm² and 600 N/mm². Apart from hardened toothing, we also supply surface treated types.
Double pitch roller chains are produced according to the particular order and customers’ specifications.
